Aviation

Aviation has a vast history that encompasses our American spirit of adventure and exploration. It is important for Congress to support the general aviation community. The aviation community needs to be protected from increased and often unnecessary regulatory burdens and harmful government imposed fees.

In some parts of the United States, the citizen population depends on small airports and general aviation to bring in needed goods and services. Other small airports serve as locations for training our future airline and recreational pilots. The additional regulations and fees that have been imposed over the last few years have greatly increased basic training and operations cost for the airports and have decreased the ability for many Americans to participate in the flying adventure.

I support general aviation as a commercial and instructor pilot and would greatly appreciate your vote in both the primary and general election in the fall of 2012. I am looking forward to further working with the aviation community and working through the many problems we face.

While in Congress I will:
-Support the AOPA and work with AOPA representatives to keep additional unnecessary government fees out of our local airports
-Continue to support the aviation community
-Work with FAA representatives and continue to always improve flight safety standards
