Veterans Affairs
The U.S. military is the backbone of our nation and the men and women that serve in our armed forces deserve our nations gratitude and commitment. In times when budgetary measures are cutting back on thousands of government programs, I understand that our military and it’s personnel become easy targets for large cuts. The military is honor bound and there for has a limited collective voice. I am and will always remain committed to do all that I can to ensure our military and our service members are treated with the respect, commitment and gratitude they rightfully deserve.
In times of war, this nation must remain vigilant in it’s pursuits. Our support of the military must be maintained by a national effort and a collective commitment to the soldier who is willing to sacrifice everything for the prosperity of this nation. This is our responsibility and a responsibility that should never be taken lightly by the general citizen population.
While in Congress I will:
-Ensure that the U.S. Congress maintains our military preparedness and does not reduce funding that will negatively effect soldiers safety on a battle field.
-Ensure that wounded military veterans receive the highest quality of medical care that can be provided.
-Ensure the security for the families of fallen soldiers.
-Ensure that defense cost cutting measures do not effect the nations military readiness, decrease a soldiers ability to complete his or her job safely, or reduce the benefits for those who have sacrificed for national service.
